Photo tips
  1. Lay pieces flat on a plain, light surface in daylight.
  2. Put a dime or penny right beside them.
  3. Take one close-up of the karat stamp (14K, 585, 750…).
  4. If you have a kitchen scale, add the weight in grams.
Good to know
  • Your gold, your piece. We don't buy gold or give credit for it. Your gold goes into your new piece.
  • Need more gold? We add new gold and charge only for what we add.
  • Mixed karats are refined to the lowest karat in the batch, and melting loses a small amount of weight.
  • Stones from old pieces are returned to you. We can set new Don Key lab-grown diamonds.
  • Plated or non-gold items are tested and sent back free.
  • Insured both ways, with photos and weight logged when your gold arrives.
Questions
How much does a Remake cost?

You pay for design, labor, any new gold we add and any new diamonds. Your estimate range comes after we see your photos, and a final quote after we test your gold in person. Nothing starts until you approve it.

How long does it take?

Most Remakes take 2 to 4 weeks after your gold arrives, depending on the design. We send photos from the bench along the way.

Is my gold safe in the mail?

We send a prepaid label with insurance and tracking. When it arrives we photograph and weigh everything and email you an intake record before we start.

Will my new piece be the same gold?

Yes. Your gold is refined and recast for your piece. If we need to add gold to finish the design, we match the karat and tell you exactly how much.

Can I visit in person?
